Cooking Appliances - How to clean and care for your product
Always allow the oven to cool before cleaning.
Some
foods can cause fat to spit, especially if you have open roasted, this
leaves the inside of the cavity greasy. It is important to clean the
oven cavity as a build up of fat can damage the appliance and may
invalidate your guarantee.
Using a trivet while roasting may help to reduce fat splashes.
Chrome plated parts.
Grill shelves & shelf runners.
- Shelf runners can be removed to enable you to clean them thoroughly. Grasp the runners and slide out of the hanging holes.
- Use a moist soap filled pad, or place in dishwasher.
Pristine enamel surfaces
Oven cavity
- The enamel can be cleaned by wiping the surface with a clean cloth which has been wrung out in hot, soapy water
- If
larger splashes of fat do not readily disappear, you can use a mild
cream cleaner to remove them, or “G.D.H.A Oven cleaner trigger spray”.
More stubborn marks can be removed using a new soap filled pad.
- Rinse well, and turn on the oven to speed up drying if required.
Important Note
Do not use:
Caustic cleaners.
Corrosive or abrasive cleaners.
Bleaches.
Coarse wire wool.
Hard implements.
All these items will damage your appliance
Cleaning your Appliance
Always allow your appliance to cool down before cleaning any part of it.
Painted, plastic, metal finish & gold coloured parts (where fitted)
control knobs & programmer buttons, painted metal door & fascia panels, side panels, handles, grill pan handle
- Only use a clean cloth wrung out in hot soapy water.
Take extra care when cleaning over symbols on fascia panels, excessive cleaning can lead to the symbols fading.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, wire or nylon cleaning pads on these parts.
Glass parts
Glass door panels, glass lid (if fitted)
- Only use a clean cloth wrung out in hot soapy water, or “G.D.H.A Oven cleaner trigger spray”.
- Rinse away any excess cleaner and dry with a soft cloth.
- Do not use abrasives or polishes as they will scratch and damage glass.
Warning: Do not operate the appliance without the glass panel correctly fitted.
Important:
the inner door glass panel can be removed for cleaning but it must be
replaced the right way up (so the reflective side – if fitted – faces
inward), and pushed fully in to the stop position. To remove the glass panel, open the door wide, hold the top and bottom edges and slide out.
Glass door panels
To meet the relevant Standards of Domestic cooking appliances, all the glass panels on this appliance are toughened to meet the fragmentation requirements of BS 3193. This ensures that, in the unlikely event that a panel breaks, it does so into small fragments to minimise the risk of injury.
Please take care when handling, using or cleaning all glass panels, as any damage to the surface or edges may result in the glass breaking without warning or apparent cause at a later date.
Should any glass panel be damaged, we strongly recommend that it is replaced immediately.
Cleaning your Appliance
Aluminium surfaces (Aluminium finish models only)
fascia panel, door handles, doors
- Use a clean cloth wrung out in hot soapy water, and dry with a soft cloth.
- More stubborn marks can be removed using diluted liquid cleaner in the
correct concentration (according to manufacturer’s instructions). We
recommend that you clean the whole of the aluminium area to maintain a
uniform finish.
- Do not use cream cleaners, as they will mark the surface.
- Do not use undiluted bleach or any products containing chlorides as they can permanently damage the aluminium.
Wipe any spillage immediately, taking care to avoid burning your hands
Stainless steel surfaces (Stainless steel finish models only)
fascia panel, door handles, doors
- Only use a clean cloth wrung out in hot soapy water, and dry with a soft cloth.
- Stubborn marks can be removed using “G.D.H.A stainless steel cleaner”.

- Do not use undiluted bleach or any products containing chlorides as they can permanently damage the steel.
Sharp objects can mark the surface of stainless steel, but will become less noticeable with time.
To
maintain the finish of the stainless steel, or to remove any greasy
marks, rub the stainless steel surface sparingly with a minimum amount
of Baby Oil.
Do not use cooking oils, as these may contain salt which can damage the stainless steel surface.
Some
foods are corrosive e.g.; vinegar, fruit juice and especially salt –
they can mark or damage aluminium if they are left on the surface
Cleaning your Appliance
Always allow your appliance to cool down before cleaning any part of it.

Cleaning your Appliance
Switch off electricity supply to hob, allow to cool before cleaning.
Ceramic glass hotplate
Care of ceramic glass hobs
Before
using the hob for the first time, apply a thin coating of cleaner
conditioner – e.g.; “Ceramic hob cleaner and conditioner” to the
ceramic glass, and polish the surface with a clean cloth.
The
conditioner gives a protective covering to the ceramic glass, which not
only makes the hob easier to clean, but also ensures they you will gain
maximum life out of your product. Occasional use will help prevent the
build up of mineral deposits, which can cause discolouration of the hob
surface.
Do not use abrasive cleaners “Brillo” pads, metal
wire, bleaches, bath stain removers, or chemical oven cleaners; all
these products will damage the ceramic glass.
The following recommendations will help keep the glass surface bright and clean:
- Use a dampened paper towel or clean damp cloth to apply a small dab of
cleaner conditioner – e.g. “G.D.H.A Ceramic hob cleaner and
conditioner” – to clean each heating area.
- Use “G.D.H.A Restor-a-cloth”, and then polish the whole glass surface.
- To remove any stubborn marks or heavy soiling, a non-scratching, mild
cream cleaner may be used – e.g.; “G.D.H.A Ceramic hob cleaner and
conditioner”. Alternatively, a “G.D.H.A ceramic hob scraper” may be
used.
Important:
If you use a wet paper towel or
“G.D.H.A Restor-a-cloth” to remove spillage from a warm heating area of
the hob, be careful to avoid steam burns.
Do not use a dishcloth
of dish sponge to wipe the hob – this can leave a film of detergent on
the surface, which will discolour the hob next time a heating area is
used. Clean cloths kept for cleaning of the hob can be used.
Cleaning your Appliance
Do
not use too much cleaner conditioner – only a thin coating is required,
any excess may burn on and discolour the hob next time it’s used.
If
persistent stains or marks remain on the ceramic glass surface, it can
be cleaned with “G.D.H.A Ceramic hob cleaner conditioner and G.D.H.A
ceramic hob scraper”. This will also remove any accumulated salts or
minerals before they have an opportunity to discolour the ceramic glass.
Wipe clean with a damp paper towel or a clean damp cloth and re-apply cleaner conditioner.
Solid plate elements
Care of solid plate elements
Before using the hob for the first time, we recommend that you prime then season the solid hotplates.
To
prime the hotplates, switch on each element in turn for a short period,
without a pan, to harden and burn off coating. Use a medium – high
setting for 3-5 minutes. A non-toxic smoke may occur during this
process.
Allow hotplate to cool, then season.
To season,
first heat the hotplate for 30 seconds on a medium setting, and then
switch off. Pour a minimum amount of unsalted vegetable oil onto a
clean dry cloth or paper towel, and apply a thin coat of oil to the
hotplate surface. Wipe off any excess oil, then heat the hotplate on a
medium setting for 1 minute.
Occasional seasoning will help to maintain the appearance or the hotplates.
To
restore the finish of the hob element, a solid electric hotplate polish
can be used – e.g.; “G.D.H.A Sealed hotplate conditioner”.
Always
refer to the manufacturer’s instructions before use, and take care to
avoid the red dot on the high speed hotplate(s). The RED spots wear off
with use; this will have no effect on the performance of the hotplate
element.
Important:
Ensure that the hob is switched off and the elements are cool before cleaning.
For normal cleaning wipe with a clean damp cloth.
Cleaning your Appliance
When
cleaning, follow the circular grooved pattern on the hotplate. Rinse
off cleansing agent thoroughly, and then switch on to a low – medium
setting for a few minutes to dry.
For heavy cleaning use a clean
damp cloth or scouring pad with a cream or powder cleaner – e.g.
“G.D.H.A Multi-purpose kitchen cleaner”. Take care, when cleaning, to
avoid the red dot on the high speed hotplate(s).
Burner caps, heads & Pan supports

Important: Allow burners to cool before cleaning.
Caution:
Hotplate burners can be damaged by soaking, automatic dishwashers (or
dishwasher powders / liquids), caustic pastes, hard implements, coarse
wire wool, and abrasive cleaning pastes.
Clean with a new moist soapy pad – e.g.; "Brillo".
For
the burners to work safely, the slots or holes in the burner head where
the flames burn, need to be kept clear of deposits. Clean with a nylon
brush, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
Important: The burner caps and heads must be repositioned correctly so that they sit squarely onto the hob as shown.

Cleaning your Appliance
Cast iron parts
Pan supports, burner caps & griddle
These
components can be cleaned with hot soapy water and a nylon brush. If
any food residue is left on these items, leave to soak for a few
minutes in hot soapy water before attempting to clean it.
Do not use caustic pastes, abrasive cleaning powders, course wire wool or any hard implements, as they will damage the surface.
After cleaning, dry thoroughly
Do not clean in a dishwasher
Enamelled parts
Pan supports and burner caps
Enamelled pan supports and burner caps are identified by their smooth finish.
The
pan supports may be cleaned in a dishwasher; alternatively the pan
